Senate Hearing Essentially Kills GMO Label Bill

An hour before a joint Hawaii state Senate hearing on a GMO labeling bill was set to begin, opponents of the legislation already filled the conference committee room seats.

Most of the chairs outside of the room, to allow an overflow crowd to watch the hearing on televisions sets, were also filled.

The man who helped fill the chairs is John Radcliffe, the Hawaii lobbyist for Monsanto, the agribusiness conglomerate and chief advocate for production of genetically engineered food.
