Columbia Law School professor Tim Wu explains the ominous direction net neutrality, a term he helped create, is taking and why we need to pay attention. If not, others, more specifically big corporations and big government, will decide for us. If they do, and chances are excellent that they will if the people remain oblivious, it would be natural to expect the results to reflect their best interests, not the people's.

The Internet makes possible a massive expansion of knowledge. It's in our interests to keep an eye on it and to protect the freedoms that we now enjoy in its use.
