White House Meeting a Threat to Internet's Future

A meeting today at the White House may have a major impact on the future of free speech and the Internet, writes Paul Steinberg on Blue MauMau, an online news journal geared toward franchisees and small business entrepreneurs. Big Pharma wants ICANN to delete the domain name registrations of companies that do not comply with U.S. law, even though they are not in the U.S. and are compliant with their own country laws, he maintains.

John Horton, who served in the Bush White House, and who is written about in the article, has taken great exception to attorney Steinberg's words and is threatening to sue both Steinberg and the publisher (?!). See the comments section for former prosecutor Horton's missives to make changes to the article (or else!) and Steinberg's replies.

Not sure how long this will remain online, so read it while you can.
