Nathaniel Kinney, Honolulu District 5 Candidate

Nathaniel Kinney campaign press release

Honolulu, Hawaii (July 16, 2009) - Nathaniel Kinney wins the backing of three powerful groups for the District 5 City Council seat. They are Hawaii Building and Construction Trades Council, Hawaii Carpenters Union and Hawaii Government Employees Association.

"The decline in tourism and construction were the first indicators that our state was in an economic recession.  With his education, legal expertise, and business experience - we support Nathaniel Kinney for City Council District Five and his plan to stimulate our local economy by getting people back to work," said William "Buzzy" Hong, executive director of the Hawaii Building and Construction Trades Council.

“We support Nathaniel Kinney for City Council because he understands working people and the strain a bad economy has on their families. His goal is to get the economy on track,” said Ron Taketa, financial secretary and business representative of the Hawaii Carpenters Union.

HGEA Executive Director Randy Perreira said, “Nathaniel Kinney is the only candidate who offers a fresh perspective to address the economic situation we are facing.  His depth of knowledge, support of Hawaii’s workers and strong desire to improve everyone’s quality of life make him the right choice to move the city forward. We are confident that Nathaniel will make a positive difference for his community and the City & County of Honolulu.”
