PBS Hawaii introduction: Governor Neil Abercrombie and State Senator David Ige, the top Democratic candidates for Governor, made their first televised joint appearance as candidates for Governor on INSIGHTS ON PBS HAWAII this evening (July 3).

While Abercrombie has an incumbent's advantage, some polls show Ige -- the most recent chairman of the Senate's powerful Ways and Means Committee -- starting to pull ahead. With their campaigns in full swing before the August 9 primary election, the two will discuss their visions for Hawaii over the next four years.
