A Message from June Hanabusa

June 29, 2014

Aloha Friend,

Ever since she was a kid helping out at our service station in Waianae, Colleen has never been afraid to work hard and fight for what is right.

In December, she stood up for our seniors and veterans by voting against a budget that cut Social Security by extending cuts to Medicare for two years, slashed veterans benefits and required new federal workers to pay more toward their retirement.

Last week, her colleagues in the House unanimously passed Colleen's amendment to prevent combat operations in Iraq. She has opposed war in Iraq since 2002 and also opposed the President's plans to attack Syria.

Colleen never forgets where she came from. She honors her obligation to give back to the community so that others can enjoy the same opportunities she had.

I'm very proud of my daughter. She is smart and tough but also respectful and kind and she never, ever forgets that the people of Hawaii are her boss.

Mahalo,

Aunty June
