The Boston Massacre of the Fourth Amendment

Gary Franchi, head of Restore the Republic and Aaron Russo's designated heir, sounds off at the spectacle we witnessed over the last week of police shredding the Fourth Amendment (freedom from unreasonable search) in Boston, threatening citizens in their own homes with violence and loaded guns.

We even had the unprecedented spectacle of police forcing one innocent man to strip naked while mainstream media video cameras ran. Perhaps other did too. Why did the victim comply? Most likely because he felt he'd be roughed up pretty badly if he didn't, or perhaps even shot up and killed. The video of the naked man was broadcast all over the country. It's hard to think of anything more humiliating and more of a violation of privacy than that.

But the U.S. now has a population where even that is acceptable, as long as it's presented as being for the public safety.

The Tarnaev brothers' aunt said she was "100 percent sure" that the naked man was Tamerlan, the older brother, but he doesn't appear as tall as Tamerlan, who his aunt said was nearly 2 meters tall (over 6'6") and he has no discernible hair on his chest, whereas Tamerlan did.
